Open from Easter to September, Torosay Castle and Duart Castle are great days out for all the family. Torosay is Victorian, having been completed in 1858, whilst Duart has been a proper, functioning castle since at least 1350. Duart Castle has featured in movies such as When Eight Bells Toll (1971) and Entrapment (1999), as well as cult TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Both castles are on the east side of Mull, just south of Craignure - you will pass them both after coming off the ferry.

Apart from the beach at Fionnphort itself, there are the famous white beaches stretching to the south of Fionnphort past Fidden (pronounced 'Fidgen') and Erraid.

There is a small golf course on Iona, another at Craignure and one above Tobermory.

There is pony-trekking at the Killiechronan Estate, including a Saturday kids' club
